Finally a moment to sit down and tell you about my wandering ways!
Basically I have been gone since the middle of december and got back the first of march. My husband and I spent the christmas holidays in our favorite mexican beach hideaway, San Carlos. We have many friends that also make it their holiday place to hang out.So many friends celebrating the good fortune to be togeather and party, visit, laugh and eat.
Many books were read, movies seen and quilts sewn.
The beach is a wonderful place to walk , sit and nap.
We also visited Alamos for a few days and stayed at my favorite bed and breakfast called the "Red Door". My friend Terry owns it and I just love how she has collections from around the world in her home and garden.
Alamos is about a four hour drive down the coast of sonora (from san carlos) and then east into the mountains. It is a charming small colonial town that is fun to explore and walk around. I was in alamos in oct for the day of the dead celebration and wanted to return to see friends and show my husband around the town.
We stayed in San Carlos for almost six weeks and avoided the very cold weather the rest of the world was having.
At the end of january we headed home for Jerome where I unpacked the husband and Zoey (the dog) and repacked the car and left for California.
My dog Zoey likes to spend time with her dog cousins in southern California where my sister and her family live, so a little visiting was done and I left southern california and headed for my most favorite quilt retreat, Point Bonita.
I have been attending this retreat for the past fifteen years and is held in the Marin Headlands, just across the Golden Gate bridge . Point Bonita is a week long event of sewing, quilting, laughing and quality time with old and new friends. This week gives me the creative spark that starts the new year in many creative paths for the coming year.
After a wonderful week quilting a dash up to the city and the gift show.
My friend Rebecca (Wild Women clothing) and I arranged to meet in the city and headed to another designer home in Loganitis . Our friend Zuni, has the coolest house and property. This is her stateside home and all her treasures of her travels live here too !
