Finally a moment to sit down and tell you about my wandering ways!
Basically I have been gone since the middle of december and got back the first of march. My husband and I spent the christmas holidays in our favorite mexican beach hideaway, San Carlos. We have many friends that also make it their holiday place to hang out.So many friends celebrating the good fortune to be togeather and party, visit, laugh and eat.
Many books were read, movies seen and quilts sewn.
The beach is a wonderful place to walk , sit and nap.
We also visited Alamos for a few days and stayed at my favorite bed and breakfast called the "Red Door". My friend Terry owns it and I just love how she has collections from around the world in her home and garden.
Alamos is about a four hour drive down the coast of sonora (from san carlos) and then east into the mountains. It is a charming small colonial town that is fun to explore and walk around. I was in alamos in oct for the day of the dead celebration and wanted to return to see friends and show my husband around the town.
We stayed in San Carlos for almost six weeks and avoided the very cold weather the rest of the world was having.
At the end of january we headed home for Jerome where I unpacked the husband and Zoey (the dog) and repacked the car and left for California.
My dog Zoey likes to spend time with her dog cousins in southern California where my sister and her family live, so a little visiting was done and I left southern california and headed for my most favorite quilt retreat, Point Bonita.
I have been attending this retreat for the past fifteen years and is held in the Marin Headlands, just across the Golden Gate bridge . Point Bonita is a week long event of sewing, quilting, laughing and quality time with old and new friends. This week gives me the creative spark that starts the new year in many creative paths for the coming year.
After a wonderful week quilting a dash up to the city and the gift show.
My friend Rebecca (Wild Women clothing) and I arranged to meet in the city and headed to another designer home in Loganitis . Our friend Zuni, has the coolest house and property. This is her stateside home and all her treasures of her travels live here too !
More" Wanderings" on the next post.......

With school starting up we are looking forward to our favorite customers and tourist coming back to visit. We have a wonderful art walk the first Saturday of each month. The September art-walk was an enjoyable evening with the temp's in the middle 80's. All the galleries and stores were open till at-least eight o'clock and the bars (2) and restaurants (5) were rocking!
Our new restaurant, 15 Quince (next door) is doing great and we all have been enjoying the new food and ambiance.
We all love Vlad the owner and chef, another great addition to this town besides the yummy food and drinks !!! Jerome is such a fun place to live and even a better place to have my store !!!!

We had a ball !!!!! The gift show was wonderful and I had fun buying some fun gifts and accessories for the store.
I always find interesting displays and bring home many ideas to perk up the store . I just got back from Las Vegas, where I shopped for the store and finished buying fall/holiday fashions and accessories. It was a four day shop-a-thon with a long list of wants and needs!
Susan and I had planned to shop together, but life got in the way and she ended up staying home and having long talks with me on the phone. I found great holiday fashions, new Tienello tops, and tons of scarfs! I really missed Susan's help and company and we plan on next February to hit Las Vegas again. Leigh is planning a trip to San Carlos in the middle of September to do her annual beach and swimming part of her life. With the hurricane, there might be some changes in plans. She will be going to Alamos (Mexico) with friends to attend the Day of the Dead at the beginning of November.
As always we hope you will try to visit Jerome and come say hi.?New merchandise is arriving daily !!!!!!!!
